“One the most powerful ways that you can have a positive impact on tomorrow’s STEM professionals”
WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
Volunteers provide support for our activities, help us run our programs and are critical to the mission and growth of ASAT LABS. Our STEM Initiatives rely on teams of dedicated volunteers to create a positive impact on the future of science, young people and the community. You can make a difference.
Volunteers are at the heart of our organization and are role models to Uganda’s future. As a part of our commitment to both creating, and expanding opportunities and building the futures of young people from underserved schools and communities in Northern Uganda through quality creative, innovative and sustainable hands-on STEM education, ASAT LABORATORIES welcomes volunteers in a variety of roles and responsibilities, from activities that directly STEM teaching and learning in and out of the classrooms, engaging in after-school and out-of-school program activities to student mentoring efforts, event planning and Management (STEM Clubs camps and Science fairs/exhibitions), providing support to teachers, advocacy and community engagement, and much more.
Through our outreach initiatives, Volunteers pass on their passion for science and technology, share their knowledge to inspire and engage underprivileged and underserved children, youth and educators in STEM teaching and learning, helping them to discover and unleash their potential, succeed and transform their lives and communities through STEM.
Our organization involves volunteers not only to tap into their unique skills, experiences and talents they bring on board our programs, we offer comprehensive support to all of our volunteers and give them a deeply meaningful opportunity to make a difference – gain and build valuably excellent professional skills, and contacts that can help them in their career exploration. At the same time, national and international volunteering lets you experience different communities and cultures in Uganda.
With an international focus and stretch, our volunteer program recruits and accepts volunteers from a widerange of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related disciplines across the globe. We welcome student, educators, industry practitioners, researchers, community members and who are interested in helping us.
