About ASAT Labs' Mission

We empower young people from underserved schools and disadvantaged communities in Northern Uganda through high-quality, hands-on STEM programs that inspire learning, build skills, and open pathways to future success.

Our Mission

We empower young people from underserved schools and disadvantaged communities through high-quality, hands-on STEM programs that inspire learning, build skills, and open pathways to future success as leaders and professionals.

Through joyful, play-based education, we are healing and empowering children across Northern Uganda — a region still recovering from decades of conflict. Our programs bring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to schools that have never had access to structured STEM learning.

Our Vision

A Uganda where all young people have access to world-class STEM education and career opportunities — regardless of their background, location, or circumstances.

What We Do

ASAT Labs works directly in primary schools across the Gulu district and Northern Uganda, delivering hands-on STEM sessions, training teachers, and building sustainable STEM clubs that continue beyond our visits.

We focus on:

Play-Based STEM

Experiments, building projects, and discovery activities that make science exciting and accessible to every child.

Teacher Training

Equipping local educators with the skills and materials to sustain STEM education long after our programs end.

Healing Through Play

Using creative, joyful activities to support the psychosocial wellbeing of children affected by conflict and poverty.

Community Impact

Engaging parents, school leaders, and local government to build lasting support for STEM education in every community we serve.

Where We Work

Our programs currently reach schools in the Gulu district of Northern Uganda, including Layibi Central Primary, Gulu Prison Primary, Layibi Primary, Gulu Primary School, and Pece P7. We are expanding to more schools each term.
