Acceptable Use Policy

Guidelines for responsible and appropriate use of ASAT LABS services and resources

1. Purpose and Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) defines the rules and guidelines for using ASAT LABS' services, platforms, and resources. Our goal is to create a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all users.

This policy applies to all users, including but not limited to registered members, visitors, partners, and anyone accessing our services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy and all applicable laws and regulations.

2. Acceptable Uses

You may use our services for the following legitimate purposes:

  • Educational Activities: Learning, research, and knowledge sharing
  • Professional Development: Career advancement and skills building
  • Collaboration: Working with others on approved projects
  • Innovation: Developing solutions that benefit communities
  • Communication: Appropriate interaction with other users and ASAT LABS staff

3. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Any activity that violates local, national, or international laws
  • Fraud, identity theft, or financial crimes
  • Distribution of illegal content or materials
  • Hacking, unauthorized access, or security breaches
  • Posting or sharing hate speech, discriminatory content, or harassment
  • Content that promotes violence, self-harm, or dangerous activities
  • Sexually explicit or inappropriate material
  • Spam, phishing, or malicious content
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts
  • Distributing viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Excessive use of resources that impacts service availability
  • Bypassing security measures or access controls
  • Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials
  • Plagiarism or misrepresentation of others' work
  • Trademark infringement or brand misuse
  • Sharing proprietary information without permission

4. User Responsibilities

As a user of ASAT LABS services, you are responsible for:

Compliance: Following all policies, guidelines, and applicable laws while using our services.
Accuracy: Providing truthful and accurate information when creating accounts or submitting content.
Respect: Treating other users, staff, and community members with courtesy and professionalism.
Security: Protecting your account credentials and reporting suspicious activities immediately.
Content: Ensuring all content you post or share complies with this policy and respects others' rights.

5. Account Security

You must take appropriate measures to protect your account:

  • Use strong, unique passwords for your account
  • Never share your login credentials with anyone
  • Enable two-factor authentication when available
  • Log out from shared or public computers
  • Report any suspected unauthorized access immediately
  • Keep your contact information current for security notifications

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at legal@asatlabs.org

6. Content Standards

All content posted or shared through our services must:

  • Be respectful and professional in tone and language
  • Not contain false, misleading, or defamatory information
  • Respect the privacy and rights of others
  • Be relevant to the context in which it is posted
  • Not promote commercial products or services without authorization
  • Comply with copyright and intellectual property laws
  • Be free from malicious code or harmful links

7. Intellectual Property

ASAT LABS respects intellectual property rights and expects users to do the same:

  • Only post content you have the right to share
  • Properly attribute sources and give credit to original creators
  • Obtain necessary permissions before using others' work
  • Respect ASAT LABS' trademarks, logos, and branding
  • Understand that you retain ownership of content you create, but grant us license to use it as outlined in our Terms of Service

8. Monitoring and Enforcement

ASAT LABS reserves the right to:

  • Monitor usage of our services to ensure compliance with this policy
  • Investigate suspected violations and gather necessary information
  • Remove content that violates this policy or applicable laws
  • Suspend or terminate accounts that breach this policy
  • Cooperate with law enforcement in investigations
  • Take legal action against users who cause harm or damages

While we monitor for policy violations, we do not pre-screen all content. Users are primarily responsible for their own behavior and compliance.

9. Violations and Consequences

Violations of this policy may result in one or more of the following actions:

  • Warning: First-time or minor violations may receive a formal warning
  • Content Removal: Violating content will be removed from our platforms
  • Account Suspension: Temporary restriction of access to services
  • Account Termination: Permanent ban from all ASAT LABS services
  • Legal Action: Referral to law enforcement or civil litigation for serious violations

The severity of consequences depends on the nature and frequency of violations. We reserve the right to determine appropriate responses on a case-by-case basis.

10. Reporting Violations

If you encounter behavior or content that violates this policy, please report it immediately. We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.

When reporting a violation, please provide:

  • Specific details about the violation
  • Links or screenshots of the offending content
  • Date and time of the incident
  • Any other relevant information that can help our investigation
